M.A. Programs on Capitol Hill

Welcome to the off-campus programs in the Politics Department at The Catholic University of America!

We offer two exceptional off-campus programs leading to a Master of Arts degree in either International Affairs (MAIA), or in Congressional and Presidential Studies (CAPS). Each program is designed for working professionals as well as other graduate students. Our classes are held in the evening near Capitol Hill and are taught by world-class instructors.   • M.A. in International Affairs (MAIA)

    Originally designed over two decades ago to provide advanced degree educational support to active duty military in the National Capital Region, the program now provides this support to active and reserve members of all the armed services and civilians employed by federal and local government agencies as well as private businesses and non-profit organizations.     Balancing academic analyses and practical experience, the curriculum meets the career and informational needs of congressional staff, interest group representatives, journalists, Executive branch employees, diplomatic staff and others interested in the political and policy processes of the United States government.
