Our unique location in Washington D.C., provides students with unparalleled opportunities for internships while they complete their degree in politics. Our students have interned on Capitol Hill, in the executive branch, with area courts and law firms, with Washington's many think tanks and lobbying organizaitons, with non-profit political organizations, and with government agencies including the State Department, the FBI, and the White House.

The politics department offers undergraduate course credit for up to two semesters of internships. Eligibility is limited to juniors and seniors in the major. Students seeking such credit must enroll in POL 528 (for Congressional internships) or POL 593/594 (for all other internships) before the semester begins, and complete various assignments associated with their internship throughout the semester.
